September 23, 2009
WAUKESHA, WI
Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd. (NYSE: CBE), today announced that it has released its newest version of the Yukon Advanced Energy Services Platform. For the past 10 years, the Yukon platform has continually expanded to support new devices and meet the ever changing needs of utility teams in advanced metering infrastructure, demand response, intelligent capacitor bank control, and substation monitoring and distribution automation solutions.
“Yukon’s features provide benefits for all teams within the utility, as well as the utility’s customers,” stated David Sutton, Yukon product manager at Cooper Power Systems. “With this new release, engineers, customer service reps and end users will all recognize additional functionality and ease of use.”
Among its new features, Yukon contains a demand response consumer portal for a multi-language customer audience, a Web service based integration engine for information sharing with other utility applications, and an expansion of its commercial and industrial demand response module. Customer service teams will notice extended AMI deployment functionality for manipulating quantities of devices as well as base scalability improvements which allow large systems to recognize the same benefits as smaller systems. Yukon currently manages systems with nearly 100,000 metering devices and others with more than 500,000 load management devices. Finally, performance updates across the platform will allow all viewers to see improved client response time.
“Cooper Power Systems is constantly striving to improve upon our industry leading utility solutions,” stated Cooper Power Systems group president, Mike Stoessl. “The updates to this proven platform will benefit all Yukon users and the international flavor of the end-consumer portal will allow utilities to provide Web capability to more customers.”
