SMP 4 Gateway: A Compact and Economical Member of the SMP Gateway

The SMP 4 Gateway is perfect for space-sensitive applications, where every inch counts!

Typically installed directly in relay protection enclosures, this compact version or the SMP Gateway family provides essential communication and data concentration features, along with an exceptional operating temperature range, on a budget. Moreover, its optional internal modem connects the SMP 4 Gateway to your network and SCADA via dialup.

A Substation-Grade Gateway

The SMP Substation Gateway is a substation-grade gateway designed to integrate both existing and new RTUs, IEDs, PLCs and control centers into a single homogeneous automation system.

The SMP 4 supports all the basic functions of the SMP Gateway in a new compact and economical packaging.

Features

The SMP 4 Gateway provides the following functions:

• Protocol Translator—Convert standard or proprietary device protocols to control center protocols such as DNP3, TEJAS and IEC 60870-5-101/103/104: one-to-one, one-to-many or many-to-many
• Data Concentrator—Collect data from all substation devices, regardless of protocol, and make it available to control centers and the local HMI, using LAN, WAN or serial connections
• Terminal Server / Serial Port Switch—Use the SMP to connect to any substation device for remote maintenance, monitoring and control
• Automation Processor—Perform local data processing using the built-in automation functions

The SMP 4 Gateway comes with a complete set of Microsoft Windows based maintenance and configuration tools. These tools are easy to use and offer both local and remote access to the SMP configuration, security settings, log files, communication traces, and system statistics.
